Since the start of the pandemic, Vodafone have always taken measurements to ensure its staff (especially front-line staff) are protected by providing hand sanitizer stations & masks. Gladly Samoa is one of the few countries in the world currently without active cases of COVID-19, and no deaths and Vodafone have vowed to play its part in keeping it that way.
To further support the Government’s initiative in keeping Samoa COVID-FREE Vodafone Samoa together with its staff are working together to get vaccinated – this is the only solution in fighting against COVID-19 & to be better prepared for when the boarders open to other countries in the nearby future.
When the first dose of Vaccines arrived in the country in April this year, Vodafone together with the Ministry of Health conducted a vaccination area inside its main office at Maluafou for all Vodafone staff to receive the free vaccination. This was safely monitored & nurses stayed on premises to help manage potential side effects. To date, Vodafone is proud to be the only company in the private sector to roll out such scheme for its employees.
With the majority of the population enroute to receiving their second Vaccination, Vodafone are again encouraging its staff to get vaccinated; and are offering Vodafone staff $50 tala after they have received their final COVID-19 vaccine. This is Vodafone’s way to maintain the protective measures that have kept the country safe to date.
“With what’s happening around the world, we encourage everyone to work with the Ministry of Health to get vaccinated; it’s the only way to keep those we love dearly, protected. This initiative is our way of giving back to our employees for doing their part in staying COVID-FREE” – says Nofoasaefa Satish Sharma Vodafone CEO.
