The University of the South Pacific Samoa Campus has given Vodafone exclusive Telecommunications Naming rights for the 2021 Enrolment Fair and Orientation at its main campus and The Savaii Centre. Vodafone Samoa will provide USP Samoa Campus with products and services valued at $14550 including $3000 cash assistance.
This partnership will provide incoming students an opportunity to get to know their Campus through fun activities and chances to win big prizes with Vodafone. One of the highlights of the partnership is the Campus sim cards, which offers students 26gb of data at only $11 an additional help for accessing online courses and research. The Enrolment Fair is to ensure that all potential students are offered the support and advice they require to decide on their programme of study and courses.
“We’re grateful for Dr. Joeli Veitayaki (USP ACD) and his team at USP Samoa Campus for providing us a platform to continue to provide assistance to the Students of Samoa. We believe Education in every sense is one of the fundamental factors of development. No country can achieve sustainable economic development without substantial investment in human capital. Therefore, in staying true to our More for All campaign and reiterating our continuous support towards the education sector, we have made internet connectivity easily accessible – done so by upgrading and installing 100 4G mobile sites across Samoa. This makes Vodafone Samoa by far the leading telecom in Network Coverage. And more importantly, we have made internet access more affordable for Student’s by revamping our Student Sim, now called the Campus Sim – suitable not just for Students but for Campus Teachers/ Lecturers too.” Says Nofoasaefa Satish Sharma.
This partnership between USP and Vodafone also provides students with easy access to free Campus Sims. The Campus Sim is free to Students & Teachers and can be uplifted from any Vodafone Store or Vodafone Roadshow Representative who will also be at the USP enrolment fair and orientation. The Campus Sim provides free wifi connection (250mb) at all Vodafone Wifi Zones across Samoa and free 1GB for every time a student tops up $5 tala.
Vodafone Samoa have taken into consideration parents and or guardians who are cautious on what their children access on the world wide web, hence Vodafone ensured its campus sim are safe and open freely to educational sites only and with zero charge. For any other internet activity students / parents would need to top it up to access.
“Once again, faafetai tele lava to USP Samoa Campus for partnering with us to help improve the quality of student lives, because in return it leads to broad social benefits to individuals and society. I encourage students and faculty members to take advantage of Vodafone’s Campus Sim and enjoy the services we have available – The Future truly is Exciting with Vodafone Samoa.” Concluded Vodafone CEO Nofoasaefa Satish Sharma.
