Unit Trust of Samoa (UTOS) owns 25% of Vodafone Samoa while the other 75% is owned by local and overseas investors with Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Limited (“ATH”) of Fiji being the ultimate parent company.
Meet the Leadership Team
Chief Executive Officer
Satish joined Vodafone in July 2019 from India where he worked with various telecom organizations like Airtel, Reliance, Tata Docomo and BPL Mobile. He also worked in educational organization -Aakash Educational Services. He worked as Business Head with Reliance Communication, Maharashtra & Goa, served for Reliance Communication as Mass Distribution Head for India with his last assignment as a Business Head in West India with Aakash. Satish holds a Bachelor’s degree from Kurukshetra University and a MBA degree in marketing from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune.
Chief Marketing Officer
Rana joined Vodafone Samoa in Jan 2019 and comes with a vast Telecom Industry background in India. He was employed within the Sales & Marketing field since 2004 within Vodafone Idea Ltd, Idea Cellular, Telenor, Reliance Communications & Tata Teleservices. Rana has an exceptional record in marketing and has strong skills in adding value to customers. Rana holds an MBA in Marketing and also MA in Journalism Mass Communication from India. He is also a certified Six Sigma professional from Motorola University Malaysia.
Chief Financial Officer
Anish started off his career in 2011 as a Chartered Accountant and External Auditor at BDO Fiji fresh out of university. At BDO, he specialized in Telecommunications and Investments audits and spent 4 years at the firm. In 2016, Anish joined the Vodafone Fiji team and was involved in Management and Financial Accounting, Internal and External Audit and Regional Projects which also included performing due diligence work for ATH. Anish then joined the Bluesky Samoa team in late 2017 as the Financial Controller. During this time, Anish also performed Group CFO roles for the Bluesky Pacific Group along with being the FC of Samoa. Anish Graduated from The University of the South Pacific with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Finance and Information Systems.
Chief Technical Officer
Alani Faiai is the current Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Vodafone Samoa. He has been with the organization while it was still a Government Ministry before transitioning over to become a private company from SamoaTel, Bluesky Samoa and now Vodafone Samoa. Alani had held roles as Chief Engineer and later General Manager of Operations and Engineering during the SamoaTel time, and later worked as the Director of Technical Operations for Bluesky Samoa. Alani is an Engineer by profession and a holds Post Graduate and Undergraduate engineering degrees from Australia. His career spans over more than 25 years in the telecommunication area with strong skills in mobile and transmission technologies.
Human Resources Head
Tupe brings 7 years of Human Resources experience in the areas of HR compliance and best practices, recruiting experience, supporting employees and new team members in areas including policy reviews and development, employee relation issues, and job description development. Prior to taking on her current role, Tupe served as Human Resources Lead, providing HR support and acting as a team mentor and escalation point for employees. Tupe holds a Bachelor of Business in Human Resources Management and Employment Relations, minor in Management from Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand.
Customer Service Head
Tanuli brings over 28 years of experience as a network administrator, accounting and payroll support administrator, manager in several roles as sales and marketing in ICT and factory operations, a Certified ISO9001 Internal Auditor, business process analyst, multicultural communities coordinator, and a very active member of Samoa Information Technology Association – Samoa. Before joining Vodafone in 2015 (formerly known as Bluesky), was the Business Development Manager for Computer Services Limited – Samoa. Have worked across the geographies like- PNG, Australia, Timor Leste, Cook Islands to Samoa. Tanuli holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Commercial Computing from PNG University of Technology, LAE.
Corporate Sales Head
Vaa Ofoia brings over 18 years experience within the telecommunication Industry. Vaa has vast experience in Sales and Marketing which help him understand the customers better and provide tailor made solutions to them. As Corporate Sales Head, Vaa is involved in delivering Sales targets, Annual budgets for the Corporate Sales Team. He exemplifies great leadership qualities, leads by example and has great corporate customer rapport, his network of customers range from prominent Government officials, corporate businesses, small enterprises and the much valued individual customers both in the Urban and Rural area. Vaa has studied Business Management from the University of South Pacific – Fiji.
Retail Operations Head
Moira has been with Vodafone (previously Bluesky) since 2013 and is the head of Vodafone’s 7 Retail departments which spans across both Upolu and Savaii. She brings with her over 20 years management experience in various Sales & Marketing, Customer Service, Quality Assurance and Finance roles. Prior to her current role, Moira was the Quality Assurance Lead for the Customer Care team and drew on her passion for delivering service excellence to nurture and train her team to desire the same goals. Moira is also a busy mother of five and an avid netball junky.
Head Call Centre
Eme has over 18 years of experience in the Customer Services in Telecommunication Industry. She has the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and multi-tasking environment. Works closely with internal stakeholders for continuous improvement in serving customers. Eme handles the entire Call Centre and ensures its 24/7 operation.
RAN & Transmission Head
Leupena has over 15 years’ experience within the Telecom industry. He currently holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of the South Pacific, Fiji. Leupena also holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the Victoria University, Melbourne Australia.
Lavea Peseta Nafoi
Fixed Networks Head
Lavea has over 5 years of experience as Head of Technical Service for the Broadcasting Department. He has 5 years of experience as Technical Manager Televise Samoa Corporation, 10 years of experience as a Manager for the Fixed Service Network Operation for SamoaTel and Bluesky Samoa now called Vodafone Samoa. His current educational background is from the B.O.C.P. Australia, holding an Advanced Certificate in Radio and Television Broadcast Engineering in Australia.
Rebecca Maulio heads the M-Tala department. She started her career at Vodafone Fiji as a Customer Service Representative delivering exceptional customer experience at the forefront of the business. Later went up the ranks in Customer Service and was the Quality Assurance Team Leader. Rebecca has been with the company since 2014. Joined as the Quality Assurance Lead and later moved into M-Tala in 2019. Rebecca graduated from the Fiji National University in Business Management & Frontline Management.
